What is Augmented Reality (A.R.)?

The essence of A.R. is that your device recognises objects in the real world (Grub Lab’s characters and games) and then renders computer graphics and animations into the real world through the lens of your phone or tablet, providing an experience where animated objects exist in the real world.

How do I install the app?

The Grub Lab app is available in the App Store and Google Play. Search ‘Grub Lab’ in the store or scan the QR code which is found on all Grub Lab products and in-venue promotional items.

How do I accept permissions?

To enable the required permissions on iOS:

  • Go to ‘settings’
  • Find Grub Lab in the list of installed apps
  • Swipe camera toggle until appears green

To enable the required permissions on Android: 

  • Go to ‘settings’
  • Go to ‘apps’
  • Find Grub Lab in the list of installed apps
  • Scroll down to ‘permissions’
  • In this section, press the ‘camera’ and ‘storage’ permissions and press ‘allow’ for both
The app isn’t working, which devices are supported?
  • Apple devices running iOS 11 and above: iPhone 7 and above; iPad 3 and above. 
  • Android devices with backward-facing cameras running Android 8.0 or higher.
  • For Android models without AR Core, Grub Lab Lite is available with limited features.

How do I order Grub Lab products for my venue?

What is the estimated delivery time for Grub Lab products?

Delivery of your Grub Lab products is usually within one week of order placement. Depending on the size of your order, it will be fulfilled by different distribution partners. We’ll let you know if your delivery is expected to take longer than expected.

How do I make a change to my Grub Lab order after I have placed an order?

If you have made an error in placing your Grub Lab order and would like to adjust your order you can do this via https://grublab.io/contact-us/ or contact (+61) 437 875 134.

What is the minimum order?

The minimum order for Scan & Play Activity Packs is 200 units.

How do I qualify for FREE Grub Club membership?

Your primary potato chip needs to be a Simplot product or please discuss with your Simplot representative about other arrangements.

Where can I find help on training new team members?

Grub Lab is designed to have seamless integration into your venue, however there is some key information for venue staff that will help Grub Lab become a success at your venue. We create short training videos which will be sent to you upon your first order and updated with every new series. In addition, a training webinar can be arranged with the Grub Lab team to go through any further questions venue staff may have. Contact the Grub Lab team via grublab.io/contact-us/ to arrange.

What is Autopilot delivery?

Auto Pilot delivery means you can set your order quantity and have Grub Lab products automatically delivered monthly. You can change your order at any time via the Grub Club support portal at grublab.io/grub-club/ or contact (+61) 437 875 134.

I no longer stock Simplot food items, can I still get Grub Lab at my venue?

Grub Lab is exclusively offered to Simplot Customers through the Grub Lab x Simplot partnership – we suggest you reconsider stocking Simplot products to maintain access to Grub Lab for your venue. Contact your Simplot sales representative for further details.

As a venue, how do I get business support?

While the Grub Lab solution is designed to seamlessly integrate into your business, there may be a time when you need to get support from our team, head to grublab.io/contact-us or contact (+61) 437 875 134.

As a user, how do I get support?

The pop ups in the Grub Lab app should have you covered but if you’d like to get in touch we’d love to hear from you via Facebook at @grublab.io or Instagram @grublab.au.

Marketing

How do I receive Grub Lab marketing material?

Your posters and table toppers are available via your Simplot Representative. A link to all digital material, i.e social media posts and digital screens, will be provided when you place your first order. Alternatively, get in touch via grublab.io/contact-us or contact (+61) 437 875 134.

How will we find out when a new series has been released?

Grub Club members will have a sneak peak of the new series’ sent via email.

Can Grub Lab products be purchased directly by users?

The beauty of Grub Lab is that we only supply to dining venues, meaning Grub Lab products can’t be purchased at the shops and families are driven back to your venue. 

Where can users view participating venues?

We are working on producing this feature on our website, for now customers are encouraged to follow our social media pages for updates on whether Grub Lab is available at their local venue.

Where do I enquire about custom building technology to promote my venue’s brand?

Currently, we do not offer custom A.R. for our customers but watch this space!

Financial

How are Simplot Foodservice supporting Grub Lab at my venue?

Through the Simplot x Grub Lab partnership, Simplot is subsidising the price of Grub Club membership to their customers for the first three months.

How do I get my invoices / tax-invoices?

An itemised tax invoice / receipt will be provided to you via email with each Grub Lab order, immediately following the placement of the order via telephone.

Is postage included?

No, the price for shipment is not included in the price of the packs and will be added to your order.

How can I make payment?

By direct transfer using the bank details on your invoice or by credit card by clicking the link, also found on your invoice.

When am I required to make payment?

14 days from the invoice date.
